This is something I fell into, my grandfather was on the department, my other grandfather and great uncle were on Newburyport's Call Dept back in the 30's through the 60's. I'm also a EMT for Guardian Ambulance in Lawrence, MA. Be Safe everyone. |

Watching my Dad (Boxford Fire Chief)through the years also inspired me. Joining the BFD was one of the best things I've ever decided to do, I'ts been a rewarding experience. By enrolling in the FF I/II class, my hopes are to increase my knowlege & confidence for the profession. BE SAFE CLASSMATES!! |

| When i was a Freshman in high school, a friend invited me to check out "Fire Explorers", a Cadet program with our town fire department. I joined and trained with them (IFSTA Firefighter I/II) every wednesday, year round, for the 4 years of high school. I left for college before i turned 18, so I never joined my home town Fire Department.
At the beginning of my Senior year of College (September, 2003), I applied to the Wenham Fire Department (The town my College is in), was accepted, and have been on Wenham Fire ever since. |

| Since I was a kid I knew I wanted to be a firefighter. The year that I have been on Manchester Fire/Rescue has really helped solidify that. I have loved every minute of it and hope to get on as a full time firefighter somewhere very soon. Nick's anyone??? |
| Brian "Bones" Geiger Boxford Fire
Before I begin my bio I just want to point out that company one gave me the nickname "Bones". Thanks company one for the honor of training with you.
I just joined the Boxford Fire Department and immediatly was sent to the Mass. Fire Academy. Although I concider myself a rookie, I have had plenty of experinces while riding as an EMT at Byfield Fire and also a shift in DC. The academy was a great experinceI have always had my heart set on being a Fire Fighter.
I don't know what the future holds for me. I am currently a senior at Salem State. Thinking about Law School but really want to serve on a big time department, currently my best friend Pat is trying to get me to fight fires in Baltimore. |
| Born and raised in Newburyport. First generation FF...and so far it's been one of the best experiences of my life. I've been in nursing for 14+ years, currently working in an Surgical/Vascular ICU in Boston. ACLS/BLS instructor. EMT-I since I was 18. Been with Newburyport for 2+ years and love it, hope to get on full time within the next year or two. This chance to take the academy FF I/II Plus has been a great experience. Thank you...
It's been a pleasure feeding all you chow hounds also...:) |
